The Actors' Studio in Fishers, Indiana (about 20 minutes north of downtown Indianapolis) holds special camps for youth interested in theater as an art form. Each summer they put on several productions featuring their up and coming proteges with the with the next one being Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory, featuring many of the songs from the original Willy Wonka. (Ooompa Loompa doopity doo...)

The play takes place the weekend of August 7th and 8th with tickets only $10. Also, for any of you who may be local the Actors' Studio is still putting on summer camps for all ages.

If you're looking for other things to do in Indianapolis that are theater related for children, just outside downtown Indianapolis in an old winery building is Peewinkles Puppet Studio. My daughter had a field trip there in the spring to their production of Cinderella and she loved it. The ladies and gentlemen who run Peewinkles are dedicated to the art form of the puppet and are passionate about their craft.

They will be putting on their annual Summer Cabaret July 28-31. The theater is quite small and intimate so I suggest if you're interested to reserve your tickets now.
