This week's Indianapolis Business Journal has article updating readers on what is going on over at the shuttered NCAA Hall of Champions.  As many already know, a small fire caused the closure of the venue nearly a year ago and the museum has yet to re-open.NCAA Hall of Champions in White River State Park

In the article, White River State park Executive Director Bob Whitt offers that instead of attempting to bring the facility back on-line quickly, the NCAA is taking this opportunity to re-evaluate the offerings of the museum with the goal of improving the overall product - not just the portion that incurred fire damage.

Remind you of anything?  If you followed the story behind the development of the underwater Dolphin Dome at the neighboring Indianapolis Zoo you will recall that the dolphin pool facility was originally only scheduled to go offline for some fairly substantial maintenance a few years ago.

While I can't imagine a Hall of Champions upgrade that could rival the Dolphin Dome - and as painful as it is at the moment to not have their facility open to show our customers that are looking for a unique venue for an off-site event, I do appreciate that they are not rushing the facility back into service without taking advantage of the opportunity to improve.
