Last night was time to let a little business not get done and instead take a minute to enjoy an Indianapolis Indians game with my son. There were a couple of things that occurred last night to make the whole boy's-night-out with my son a great package of fun and entertainment.First we participated with members of his little league team on a baseball clinic that was put on by various players and coaches of the Indianapolis Indians.
My son had the opportunity to go down on the field and practice some skill drills as a catcher and as a pitcher, his two favorite positions as a baseball player.
A little while later the first of two games started. Since the previous night's game against the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs was rained out, they played two 7-inning games last night back-to-back. We didn't get out of there until almost midnight and the Indians split the double-header 1-1 after a 3rd base line rip from Steve Pearce scored a runner in the bottom of extra innings to end the game.
If you've never been to Victory Field, you've got to make it a priority to head on down for a game. As the Indians say, it's Baseball UP CLOSE!. I haven't had a chance to get my photos off my camera yet, but once I do I'll be sure and share those with you.
