We hit the city's latest Thai offering, Siam Square, for lunch yesterday and are happy to have another good downtown Indianapolis dining option with some kick. The new restaurant at 936 Virginia Ave. adds to the ethnic options in the Fountain Square Cultural District.
For starters, I ordered the Siam Roll (top left) and enjoyed the fresh veggies, pork and shrimp wrapped in rice paper. No deep frying! They were served with a sweet chili sauce that had too much vinegar for me, so I also ordered a side of peanut sauce. Perfect!
Everyone ordered from the lunch specials menu where everything is $7.99 and comes with a side of soup and a spring roll. Among us we had pad seuw (top right), drunken noodles (bottom left), masaman curry and fried rice (bottom right), all ordered at medium spiciness. We all left full and satisfied with the heat. I even had leftovers! With so many tasty options on the menu, return visits are a must. Maybe I'll even leave room for dessert one day.

One note on Siam Square...if you like some real heat ordering your meal at medium does not cut it as it might as some Thai restaurants. I expected some bite but it lacked any real zip. The meal was delicious nonetheless, but if it's heat you crave don't hold back when ordering at Siam Square.

These pictures are so mouth watering! We had a place where I came from called the May Cafe and I have not been able to find any thing like that here, UNTIL NOW! Great blogs by the way, I will be looking at this for more places to eat in Indianapolis, Thank you. I am a big travel & food channel watcher and know that pictures speak wonders for food and yours are awesom!

I agree with indyjrob. I had the masaman curry and it was delicious but could have been zippier. The heat seems to be adjusted to the American palate so if you want the pain tell them you want it "thai hot"!
