The art of chocolate.
As noted in my cupcake post earlier, I do love some sweets and I consider myself fortunate to live in a city with a couple of good dessert cafes. Today's lunch took me to the Chocolate Cafe on Monument Circle (downtown Indianapolis).

The cafe is a branch of the South Bend Chocolate Company whose tasty wares can also be found in kiosks in local malls. The bonus of visiting the storefront is that you get not only cases of chocolate treats, fudge, cookies and espresso beans, but also ice cream, coffee drinks, Jones soda, giant bagels and lunch, if you're so inclined.

I've had several lunches here over the past few months and although the food is passable, my advice is to stick to a variety of sweets--they do have a nice selection of sugar free offerings--and a frothy beverage. Today I had a decent ham and cheese sandwich (with pretzels and a pickle) followed by a white cherry blossom, basically a turtle with a cherry inside. As you can see in the photo, it was beautiful, but was a little short on flavor. I think I'd like a dark cherry blossom more.

Now that my sweet need has been fulfilled, I'll look forward to some juicy pig and rockers from my past at this weekend's Rib Fest!
