Who doesn't love a circus? I still have some of the very groovy '70s toys I got at the circuses of my youth and remember being transfixed by the parade of elephants. There was a big shindig on Monument Circle today and let me say that the pachyderms still mystify me. I rode one at the Indianapolis Zoo about ten years ago and I know I giggled giddily the entire time.
Today's extravaganza was two-fold. It was a chance to welcome the Ringling Brothers and Barnum&Bailey Circus to town and also a rally to get fans fired up for the first Colts game of the season which just happens to be a rematch of that Super Bowl we won a couple of years ago...
There were clowns handing out Colts nose covers (you need one, trust me) and throwing toys into the crowd, Blue shooting t-shirts out to the masses, acrobats flipping frantically, dancing cheerleaders, a marching band and the elephants, of course. Pretty nice little lunch!
